Cade's First Christmas - 8 months old!

Christmas 2008 has been especially memorable. Mostly because we have a super sweet little baby boy, who makes everything, including Christmas, extra fun. It was also memorable because of Arctic Blast 2008 which pretty much took over 2 weekends of the Christmas season. I was actually thankful for the snow. We would have typically been overscheduled - trying to cover too many social functions, wrapping too many gifts, and running around thither and yon, scrambling in an effort to create the "perfect" Christmas experience and meanwhile missing the point entirely.

Well, I am thankful for artic blast 2008. While it snow snow snowed outside, Chris, Cade, and I were cozy and warm in our little house. Enjoying the glow of our tree, and the glow of being together, drinking tea, sipping cocoa, eating hearty pastas, playing with Cade, watching Christmas movies, baking muffins. It was THE BEST. We feel so incredibly blessed and overwhelmingly grateful to the Lord for the gifts he's given us. Most especially His baby boy Jesus.

Cade is getting more and more fun every day. He's just over 8 months and we have a feeling that he is going to be walking soon. He is crawling and into everything and keeps us on our toes for sure!

Likes: blueberries, bananas, oatmeal, puffs, stairs, baths, being naked, pulling on electronics, sleeping in his crib (finally), other babies, bouncing up and down, smiling at strangers,

Dislikes: my laptop when i work from home, peas, anything green, anything green that you try to mask with other foods, binkies, nursing (he went on strike at about 8 months and continues to be on strike on random days), sleeping for more than 6 hours at a time.

Here is a photo journal catch up of our adventures over the advent season...
Picking out our Christmas Tree

The first day of snow...We spent the morning at Starbucks and then went to Freddies to stock up on supplies and dvds. I made an Italian Pot Roast and we took Cade outside for a walk along the creek to see his first snow.
My two boys. Chris is looking forward to when Cade is big enough to throw snow balls.

A lazy Saturday morning with the family at Original Pancake House

Here is Cade helping Daddy make Turkey Panini sandwiches for lunch.

He likes to hang out on our kitchen island while we bustle around the kitchen.

Here is Cade whispering a little advice to Parker on how to work his toy. You got to SPIN it, man. He had to whisper since little miss Victoria was staring at them across the room.

A Walk in the Snow

An impromptu walk to Starbucks with our neighbors Galit and Sam and AbeWalking through our neighborhood we caught a glimpse of a baby owl!

Here's a close up of the owl
Chris and Sam are getting their work out. First from shoveling the snow in our driveway and now from pushing the babes in the joggers up Huber. At Starbucks. Cade got to borrow one of Abe's bad ass hats.
What's UP! These boys are going to tear it up on the mtn one day. Watch out.

Cade says..Dude, how cool is it that we're skipping out on naptime right now! Mom and Dad aren't even going to notice till we start melting down in about 15 more minutes!
